Sandy Roberts and Marty Brutlag have noticed that several people have been wondering whether our class will be having a reunion. We have decided that it is time to make a decision. Here it is!

HAYWARD HIGH CLASS OF 1969 REUNION

DATE: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2009

PLACE: MATHER REGIONAL PARK, SACRAMENTO
HWY 50 @ SUNRISE, GO SOUTH 3 MILES ON SUNRISE THEN WEST 1 MILE

TIME: 11:00am TILL DARK

COST: TBD, SHOULDN’T BE EXPENSIVE

TYPE: POTLUCK, BRING YOUR OWN MEAT TO BBQ, BYOB (no glass),
AND SIDE DISH/DESERT TO SHARE

Mather Regional Park has a nice picnic area with partial covered shade. It has plenty of picnic tables, big serving area with electricity, and large BBQ pit to cook on. This will give us plenty of time to talk and reminisce without the noisy backdrop that makes it hard to hear for us old folks (yeah, it’s been 40 years). Bring your yearbooks if you have them to help recall everybody who was in our class. You may want to bring enough food for two meals if you plan on being there all day. Side dishes include your specialty, or as easy as grocery store potato salad.

NOTE: This reunion will be for Class of 1969 and guest (spouse, significant other, date, etc.) only. No grandkids or pets please. (Of course bring pictures of them.) If you’re by yourself, please be sure to come. We’d love to see and talk to you.

PLEASE: If you know someone in our class that isn’t on *****.com, let them know about the reunion.

LODGING: Sandy is working on getting a deal on lodging at the Marriott (Sunrise at Hwy 50). There may also be a plan in the works for an evening party at the Marriott.

If someone wants to take over and do another location, date, and/or style of reunion, feel free to do so. You will not offend either of us. We will happily bow out.

Our class has a reservation on hold for September 19th that is good for two weeks. After that there will be a $200 deposit to reserve that date. Please let me Marty know as soon as possible if you will be able to attend.
